PostSubject: The Rhythm of the Falling Rain   Wed Apr 29, 2009 5:59 pm

High atop the Vaizard Warehouse, Kohana sat peacefully. The sky, painted grey and black with storm clouds as rain poured down around her. She sat down on the roof then leaned back, her slender arms supporting her weight as the rain drenched her body. Her light blue sundress clung to her body as her damp aqua blue hair draped over her ashen shoulders. Her pale flesh glistened as beads of water ran down the length of her body then dripped onto the ground around her. Her body shivered slightly as a chilled breeze whisped past her, yet she continued to gaze out at the town below. She tapped her fingers lightly on the roof, each tap following the beat of her heart as the crashing of each raindrop on the surface of the roof created a rhythm all their own. A light smile appeared on her face as she closed her eyes, inhaling the fragrant scent in the air that the rain had carried with it. She brought her right hand up, her left hand now supporting her weight, and lightly brushed a few damp strands of hair from her face. She then returned her arm to it's previous position. She remained on the roof for what seemed like hours, simply basking in the dismal glow of the twilight sky.

After those hours had passed, the wind seemed to pick up for a bit all of the sudden. It took a while to notice it, but Kyosuke had been traveling with that wind, now also standing atop of the warehouse. He actually landed a couple of feet behind Kohana, silently tapping his feet along the roof. He had spent all that time outside, now completely drenched in rain. But his presence still seemed like a happy one.

At that time he hadn't even noticed Kohana's presence.
"What a day... Well, at least the weather's been pleasant enough", he said and brushed his long hair with his right arm, hoping that some of the water would fall off. He had also taken a long breathe of the fresh air. After a while he finally noticed Kohana. His eyes widened a bit, as he remembered that he had seen her somewhere earlier that day.

Kohana shivered again as the wind started to pick up, the bitter chill biting at her moistened flesh as it chilled her already water-logged dress. Her crystaling gaze remained locked on the amber glow of the horizon, only a slight sigh of contentment escaping her lips. Her mind was completely focused on her current thoughts that she didn't even sense Kyosuke's presence in her midst. Her eyes slightly narrowed, her lids becoming heavy as a flash of lightning streaked across the morose sky, slicing through the clouds like a hot knife through butter. The sound that followed resembled a lion's daunting roar as it boomed then emulated back and forth between the mass of buildings in the town below. Her heard skipped a beat for a moment as the vibrations from an unfamiliar source tickled her sensitive fingertips. The feeling sinuated up her arm then throughout her body, causing her to shudder ever so slightly. She turned her head, only for a second, to glance behind her. She saw the sillouhette of a being, the person's form being conceasled by the thickening mist. She sensed the beings aura, noticing it to be almost pure. this gave her a secure feeling, knowing that the being met no harm. She turned her gaze back to the skyline, a faint smile appearing on her face once more.

Though he had noticed the form in front of him to be somewhat familiar, Kyosuke couldn't quite figure out who it actually was, due to the thick mist that had formed due to the unrelenting rain of that day. A small shudder ran through his spine as a loud strike of lightning struck down from the sky. For a moment he was tense like that, but right after he took a more curious look forward. He had decided to approach the being that was currently sitting on top of that building.

He began walking forward calmly, yawning as he began feeling more tired. The unneccessary confrontation with that Bount wore him down, eventhough there hadn't been any large fights. One could call it "mental stress". Even as he was standing nearly behind the spiritual being, whom he had identified to be a girl, he still couldn't see who she was. He gave off a sigh that somehow seemed to be a "happpy" one and removed his other hand from the pocket of his hooded sweater. Afterwards he touched the hilt of his zanpakutou gently, only releasing a small wave of reiatsu that made the blankets of mist finally disperse. Surprised by whom he saw, he muttered a single word, "You're...."

She blinked for a moment as the air's visibility became clear. She heard the voice of a young male call out to her, so she lightly turned her head to the left, catching a glimpse of the young man in her peripheral vision. She slowly rose to her feet, her damp garment clinging to every curve of her petite body. As she stood, another bolt of lightning sliced through the tenebrous heavens, parting the inky clouds yet again with ease. Her porcelain flesh seemed to glisten as the glow of the lightning relfected off of the beaded rain drops that collected on her body. Her serene expression remained unphased as the roar of crashing thunder echoed throughout the sleepy borough known as Karakura. Her heterochromatic gaze remained locked on the male as she reached her right hand up once more to move the strands of her saturated azure tresses from her face. She took a couple steps toward the male, her bare feet splashing in the small puddles of chilled rain water that accumulated in the small indentions of the warehouse's roof. she stopped in her tracks, now standing only a couple feet in front of the young man. A sense of tranquility seemed to envelope her as she stood before him. She let out a faint sigh as a gust of chilled wind caressed her delicate form, the cold nipping at her arms and legs. The sharp sensation snaked up her body, then down her spine. The feeling sent a light tremor throughout her body, causing her to let out a faint, inaudible noise. A light crimson hue began to color her previously achromatic face. She let her bangs form a veil over her face, sheilding her embarassment.

Soon the fragrant scent of cherry blossoms filled the area as hundreds of the soft pink petals danced about the dismal sky, the wind being their benevolent puppet master. The petals soon floated gracefully to the floor of the roof as the wind dispursed, they now resembling tiny pink boats as they floated atop the puddles of water around their feet. She gave off a slight smile as she watched the display from behind the veil created by her hair. she extended her right hand, her palm facing upward and her fingers bent only slightly. a single cherry blossom petal fell into her hand. It was moist, yet silky. It remained undamaged by the relentless storm. She curled her slender digits around the petal, being careful not to harm it. She took a couple more steps forward, now standing only a few inches in front of the boy. She recognized him as the young Shinigami from earlier that day. She turned her gaze to him as her left hand extended, her fingers wrapping around his right wrist. Without saying a single word, she turned his palm up and placed the petal in his open hand, then curled his fingers around it as a gesture of peace.

There he stood in what seemed like a peaceful silence, apart from the sounds of the big city below them and the sounds of the storm that had seemed to pick up for a while. His expression looked like a curious one as the stress of the day had worsened his memory by a bit. Trying to figure out who she actually was, he suddenly heard the faintest voice which seemed to differ from those that raged on around him. For a while he took curious looks around before his sights focused on the form of the female who had seemingly spent all day sitting in that rain. A single chuckle escaped his lips before a lonesome smile appeared on them.

A while had passed from that "embarassing" moment. At that time he had just noticed the wonderful scent that floated by. Oh... No wonder, since it's the spring, he thought and looked up at the skies that were now filled with cherry blossoms that gently floated down. Just like most other people, he enjoyed such beautiful scenes. Now these blossoms were dancing in the wind, passing through the rooftop. He noticed how the female carefully took a hold of one of the blossoms. A surprised, yet appreciative look came over him as she offered the blossom. Now I remember. She was with that Vaizard. Is she one of them too? he wondered for a bit. But such things didn't really matter to him.
"Shinichi, Kyosuke. What is your name?" he introduced himself, though in a polite tone as he took a hold of the blossom.

She looked up at him as her hands went back to resting at her sides. Her pallid lips soon parted and she began to speak in a soft, subtle tone. My name is Kohana....Kohana Hirikano...It's a pleasure to meet your aquaintence, Mr. Shinichi. She smiled and bowed politely to the young male for a moment, then straightened her posture. Her eyes never left the figure of the young male. His aura seemed so familiar. It reminded her of a dear friend from the past. As she continued to think more about the person, her expression became sadder and sadder.

Immediately as she spoke of him as "Mr. Shinichi", his cheeks became entirely flushed with crimson red color.
"W-What? I'm really not that old", he said and laughed a bit while holding the back of his head with his right arm. Usually when referred to with such honorifics, he'd become easily flustered. Considering his status he actually heard people refer to him like that a lot, though. But, his expression changed completely as he noticed how Kohana seemed to become a bit sad. He really didn't know how to fix the situation at that time, so he decided to dig something from the large poutch on his dark red sweater. After a while of digging he actually puelled out a flute. As a way of trying to cheer Kohana up, he tried to play a "cheerful" melody that he had learned as kid.

Kohana chuckled lightly at the young male's reaction, watching as his face became a deep crimson hue. She lightly patted his shoulder in a sort of calming manner, not noticing him retrieving a flute from the rouge sweater he was wearing. The moment he began to play the instrument, a sense of tranquility seemed to erase the sadness from her mind and replaced it with more calming thoughts. A gentle smile appeared on her face as she sat back on the cooled tar roof, letting the airy tune's repose relax and quell any melancholy memories that Midoriko seemed to want to resurface. She glanced back at the shinigami and lightly tapped the roof with her index finger, signaling for him to sit.

As the Vaizard leader sat in her office after the incident that had happened around the Warehouses, the female seemed doing some paperwork as she heard the steady drumming of the rain which even calmed the uptight Leader. Of what she thought she heard voices up on the roof did she pause for a few moments before she had heard silence once more. Shifting her dark blue hued gaze downwards, she skimmed over the letters which formed words, reading it silently in her mind before signing it or checking things off.

After a few moments she would rest back into her leather chair, her mind wandering off a bit as her Hollow, Tithe, seemed to stay quiet. Her memories would flicker back to her human life, though, the memories were quite blurry had she remembered her other side. Her concentration would then be broken as she heard a soft melody in the background, the noise coming form the roof again, and not knowing anyone else who had musical talent did the Leader stand up from her spot. Right then and there did Pluto make her way across the room, plucking her silk cloak off of a hanger, soon wrapping it around her shoulders, then placed the hood over her head.

Her footsteps would stay quiet, even if she was wearing boots, the vast and empty halls of the warehouse staying silent as Pluto dimmed her reitsu as well as her aura. Soon she had slipped up the stairs, her right hand reaching out to quietly yet quickly open the door that led to the outside roof. Standing on slick tar roof, the soft rain falling upon her cloaked form did Pluto stay quiet for a few moments before speaking.

"Kohana... Who is this..," Pluto had begun before she had noticed that the male was the Shinigami from earlier who had caused the trouble on the area. Her face still calm, though, her dark blue eyes giving a deathly and piercingly cold look did she speak more firmly, her tone icy cold, "Shinigami. Why are you here..."

Kohana closed her eyes for a moment, enjoying the sound of the rain mized with the docile tones of Shinici-Sama's flute. Soon the peace was broken by a sharp voice. She quickly noticed it to be Lady Pluto's, so she swiftly rose to her feet and bowed politely to her leader. M'lady, this is Kyosuke Shinichi. Do not think ill of him, Lady Pluto. He is not here to cause trouble. I can promise you that. Her voice seemed shaken and almost fearful as she addressed her leader. Her body seemed to lightly quiver, but not from the chilled air.

The female shifted her gaze over towards Kohana, watching the girl quiver most likely in fear. Her emotion unchanging did she shift her dark blue hued gaze over towards the Shinigami boy who had caused trouble early in the day; Tithe silently snickering in her head. Paying no mind to the words the Vaizard girl had spoken did Pluto ask more sharply and firmly, the area around herself seeming to pulse once in slight annoyance, "Do not make me repeat myself, Shinigami Boy.. Why are you here..."

The Vaizard Leader's gaze seemed to becoming dangerously venomous, though her body language and facial expression seemed to stay calm and smooth. After a few seconds Pluto merely crossed her arms across her chest, her rose colored lips pressing together into a thin line for a couple of moments.
